Acorn Nuts

What are Acorn Nuts?

Acorn Nuts (also known as Acorn Nuts or Crowned Hex Nuts) feature a domed top which conceals the threads. The dome of this component acts as a protective barrier, preventing unwanted contact with other components and giving fastenings a well-finished appearance.

Dome Nut Application And Uses.

Dome nut applications vary from small DIY jobs to large projects where dome nuts shield and protect the thread from vibration and other elements that can cause wear and tear. Accu has a range of Locking Acorn Nuts with a nylon locking insert which has been developed to help reduce loosening from vibration.

The standard range of Acorn Nuts is often used to conceal ugly fastenings and to cap sharp ended fasteners to prevent accidental injuries. The A2 and A4 stainless steel dome nuts are a popular choice for applications where asethetics are important. For example, the m10 dome nuts are used to cap the end of m10 bolts for a neat finish and to cover sharp edges.
