What are Torx Cap Head Captive Screws?

This unthreaded portion accommodates a Captive Washer, which locks in place to prevent the fastener from being fully removed after installation. Hexalobular Captive Screws utilise a Torx drive to minimise cam-out and increase tool life. Captive Screws are commonly used for safety reasons, and are required by EU law in certain safety equipment.
